Heather Johnson
Executive Director
Heather brings over a decade of experience in senior living and a deep passion for serving others. A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Heather studied at DMACC Urban Campus before beginning her career in senior living 11 years ago. She started as a cook, then transitioned into a Care Manager role, steadily working her way up to Executive Director.
For the past two years, Heather has led with dedication and compassion, ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care. She loves that every day in her role is different, allowing her to connect with residents, families, and team members in meaningful ways. Her passion for senior living comes from being raised by her grandparents, who instilled in her a deep respect and love for the elderly.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family. She loves reading in her spare time and has a passion for the outdoors, embracing hobbies that allow her to connect with nature.
Heather’s journey from frontline caregiving to leadership reflects her commitment to making a difference in the lives of seniors, and she continues to bring warmth, dedication, and leadership to Addington Place of Des Moines.
